The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) had twelve member countries: Algeria, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Librya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Venezuela. OPEC+ (an expanded alliance formed in 2016) involves Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brazil, Brunei, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Russia, South Sudan, and Sudan. OPEC (including OPEC+) controls approximately 40% of the world's oil supply.
